The Challenge & Background

CAVIA, developed by TendersLab (recognised as a Certified Sole Supplier), is a mobile and backend platform for continuous digital biomarker collection. The platform combines data from 42+ smartphone sensors and data points to build a robust foundation for proactive clinical research.

The "Collect-Analyze-Act" Solution

The platform operates on a secure "Collect-Analyze-Act" framework designed for advanced Big Data analysis:

  1. Passive Collection: The app continuously gathers digital phenotypes from the device (movement patterns, device usage behavior, connectivity data) without requiring active user input via battery-optimized protocols.
  2. Efficient Transmission: Data is synchronized to a secure, anonymized cloud database over Wi-Fi, strictly preserving privacy and minimizing battery drain.
  3. Expert Analysis: The massive datasets (over 10TB collected) are analyzed by data specialists and medical professionals based on rules derived from 2000+ confirmed research papers.

Privacy First: Critically, all immediate analysis is designed to be privacy-preserving. The system generates insights without broadcasting raw personal data (such as message content or specific call details) from the device.

The system is currently deployed at Soroka Medical Center, where it is used to support clinical studies.
